What is BuildHoods?
BuildHoods is a wallet-based city game where a player controls a BuildHoods account, develops Hoods, competes on leaderboards and can join forces with other players through Crews.
Your wallet proves ownership of your account. BuildHoods game data such as your player profile, username and Crew membership is stored securely by the BuildHoods backend.
Getting Started
New players connect a supported wallet, sign a BuildHoods login message and choose a unique username before accessing authenticated game features.
Wallet & Player Login
Connecting a wallet and signing in are two separate steps. Connecting allows BuildHoods to see the wallet address. Signing the BuildHoods login message verifies that the player actually controls that wallet.
BuildHoods Username
Every player must choose a unique BuildHoods username. Usernames belong to the player account, not to an individual Hood.
- 3–20 characters.
- Letters, numbers and underscore.
- Unique across BuildHoods.
- Players may change their username later.
Hoods
Hoods are the core playable city assets in BuildHoods. The new live ownership and Hood Power system is being connected to the BuildHoods backend.
Each Hood will maintain its own progression and power rather than sharing one combined player power value.
Production Leaderboard
The live leaderboard uses BuildHoods player accounts from the new BuildHoods database. Production and Hood Power values will expand as the new Hood ownership system is completed.
Crews
Crews allow BuildHoods players to organize into groups for cooperation, attack and defense.
Open Membership
A player may join immediately when space is available.
Approval Required
A player sends a join request. Crew management approves or rejects the request.
A player may belong to only one Crew at a time and may have only one pending join request.
Crew Roles
Officers are appointed manually by the Owner. Members are never automatically promoted to Officer.
Crew Ownership Succession
When the current Owner leaves the Crew, ownership follows a defined succession order:
- 1. The earliest joined Officer becomes Owner.
- 2. If there is no Officer, the earliest joined Member becomes Owner.
- 3. No Member is automatically promoted to Officer.
- 4. If no members remain, the Crew is deleted.
The new Owner may manually choose which Member should become an Officer.
Crew Fights
Crew battles will contain both Attack and Defense activity. Active fights and historical fights will be available from the Crew page.
HOOD Rewards
Reward production is being migrated to the new BuildHoods live game system. Final production, claiming and Hood Power rules will be documented here as they are activated.
NFT Store
The BuildHoods NFT Store displays game utility assets including the Upgrade NFT and other BuildHoods game assets.
OPEN NFT STORE →Wallet Security
BuildHoods never needs a player's wallet private key or recovery phrase.
BuildHoods authentication uses wallet message signatures. A legitimate login request should not ask you to reveal your private key or seed phrase.
